Most of us have old furniture lying around and we do not know what to do with it. Instead of leaving the furniture around while it consumes space, or instead of throwing it out, you can easily turn it up a notch and create a whole new furniture altogether! With little bit of hammering and bit of painting, you will have made an entirely new piece of furniture from the old. Here are some amazing and easy to do ideas for your to try out on those old pieces of furniture.
1. Old Desk
If you have an old desk just sitting around, why not try this DIY. You can easily detach the old desk then nail it back together to form a nice comfy bench with a chest of drawers on the side and a storage area under it. Not only will you still be using the drawers that where already there, but, you get to have a bonus place for storage underneath the bench. You can paint the new furniture over for a new color as well.
2. DIY Two Chair Bench
This DIY involves making a bench out of two chairs. For this, you will have to have the chairs facing each other, and then adding extra material so to create both the sitting and leaning parts pf the bench. The backs of the chairs will serve as the armrests for the bench.
3. Chest of Drawers
Another great way to make a bench is to use a chest of drawers. You can remove some drawers from one side, and make a bench there. You can also decide to leave some of the drawers still intact so that you get to store some things that you might need when sitting on that bench.
4. DIY Barrel Furniture
Barrels make for great furniture! You can cut out parts of the barrels and then add a bit more of the wooden material to create the seat and the back of some sofas. This is quite a creative and unique idea! You can also come up with other furniture from the barrels, such as tables.
